Entries & Registration:
Pre Registration Deadline is October 24, 2008. Registration received after October 24, 2008 will be charged a $2.00 per dancer fee. No personal checks after October 31, 2007. Registration ends October 31, 2008. NO LAST MINUTE ENTRIES! There will be NO team or duo/duet registration at the door. Solos and Acapella Solos will be allowed to register at the door. Make checks payable to Lorie Reynolds.

Rules:
Event and category rules have been provided. It is the director’s or registering person’s responsibility to read, know, and abide by the provided rules for this event.   Official CCA Rules

Judging:
Every effort has been made to select a diverse and experienced panel of judges.

2009 Showdown of Champions Qualifications:
This is a C.C.A. affiliated competition. All qualifying team, solos, and duo/duets for the 2008 Showdown of Champions are subject to the C.C.A. and Showdown rules. Showdown of Champions qualifying categories: Solos, Duo, Duets, Amateur & Challenge Standing Line, Amateur & Challenge Open Line, Amateur & Challenge Precision, Amateur & Challenge Hoedown, Amateur & Challenge Artistic Expression, and Amateur & Challenge Exhibition.

Stage Call & Order of Dance:
There will be two calls; if an entrant is not lined-up and ready to dance last call, they will forfeit their chance to dance in that category

Video Policy:
There will be no fee for use of video cameras at the competition, but they will only be allowed on the sides and back of the competition hall. NO flash photography will be allowed during competition. The competition staff reserves the right to ask you to relocate if problems occur. Your cooperation is appreciated.

Dressing Areas:
Dancers will be provided with designated areas to dress and store costumes. All garment bags and costumes should be stored in the designated areas provided. Please DO NOT use the seating to store costumes. The competition staff reserve the right to ask that you relocate your belongings if problems occur.

Food & Drinks
The Embassy Suites will be selling food and beverages during the event. There is a restaurant located on the second floor of the hotel. NO outside food or drinks will be allowed in the competition hall.

Music & Tapes:
Teams and duo/duet contestants must provide their own music on CDs or HIGH Quality Cassette Tapes. Please only one song per tape. Back-up music should be available and provided by the entrant to the director. Speed checks will be provided off stage via headphones prior to the entrant dance. There will be NO stage sound or speed checks. Once you start dancing you have 15 seconds to stop should you have music or sound related problems.

Awards & Dance Offs:
Awards will be presented to all Solos, Team, Duo/Duet Age Division winners placing 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place. The highest scoring Team and Duo/Duet in each category will receive Grand Champion award. A Crowd Pleaser award will be given to the team with the most spirit during the competition.

The highest scoring team in each category will be awarded Grand Champion and will dance-off for the Overall Team Award. All Challenge Category Grand Champions will dance-off for the Challenge Overall Team Award. All Amateur Category Grand Champions will dance-off for the Amateur Overall Team Award. All 1st place Solo Age Division winners will dance-off for Overall Male and Overall Female.
